As most days begin, the light creeps through our windows to welcome a new day. Throughout the winter we have been faced with many mornings of snow, wind, rain, and grey stormy sky's. As spring has phased in full-throttle the warm wake-up is much more prominent. I don't know about you but I sure have a lot more jump to my kick with sun beaming down onto my face. Don't get me wrong there is nothing more that I love then skiing in fresh pow day after day, but we humans need the sunshine light. In fact the sunshine that we get from the VIT D rich beaming star is so grand that our body releases more positive endorphins then on those fresh cold powder snow mornings. So enjoy the sun, breathe in the cool spring air. And get out there and actively use that extra boost we gain from the yellow warmth of the sun.

Welcome to Terra Firma Fitness and Massage. The home-site of a high sierra outdoor fitness experience and therapeutic massage. Terra meaning earth, Firma solid. Terra Firma together meaning firm solid earth. This phrase has relevance to both my business and my lifestyle. Being outside experiencing health and wellness through the grand beautiful outdoors, providers tremendous physiological, and psychological benefits. The initial perk of having a greater sense of motivation through exercising outdoors has been proven by recent research. Breathing in the fresh air, exposing your skin to the natural light and Vit D rich sun have been linked to increasing your bodies natural release of endorphins. If you are so fortunate to have access to a clean environment I encourage you all to take a few minutes after reading this blog to go outside and go for a walk, or sit quietly for 10 minutes. Both exercise and massage are key elements to a balanced sense of well being. As many of us know, the benefits of massage therapy far out way just the relaxation qua lites. The cardiovascular, the lymphatic, vascular, endocrine(hormonal) and circulatory systems benefit greatly, and pain reduction is prevalent. It will not be long until the medical industry accept massage as much as they accept other health and wellness modalities.
I look forward to having a dialogue with my readers, please feel free to email me any questions and i will look forward to getting to answering them with the best of my ability.

Sincerely
Amy
